Three guides. Combined 26 seasons on Mount Fuji. Every one of us will tell you the truth about conditions, turn back if needed, and make sure you get down safe. That's the job.
Takeshi Mori
Born at the foot of Fuji in Fujikawaguchiko. Climbed his first time at age 8 with his grandfather. Has summited over 200 times. Will tell you honestly if the weather is bad enough to turn back.
Yuki Sato
Knows every hut owner on the mountain by first name. Can get you a spot when everything is 'full'. Grew up in Fujikawaguchiko and worked at the 5th Station visitor center before becoming a guide.
Matt Rivera
Moved from LA to Japan specifically to climb Fuji. Speaks fluent Japanese and English. Carries a camera on every climb and shares summit photos with all clients. Explains the cultural significance of every shrine and marker on the trail.
Our Approach
We don't do tourist walks. Every climb is treated as a mountain expedition because that's what it is. We brief you honestly on weather, fitness requirements, and what to expect. If conditions are unsafe, we turn back. If you're not fit enough, we turn back. No refunds for weather cancellations — we reschedule or give credit. That's mountain climbing.
Each guide leads a maximum of 6 clients. This keeps the group moving at a safe pace and allows us to pay attention to everyone. On technical winter climbs, the ratio drops to 1:3 for safety.
All guides are certified by JMGA (Japan Mountain Guides Association) or equivalent. We carry emergency communication devices, first aid kits, and shelter on every climb. We know every hut owner, every trail marker, and every bailout route on the mountain.
