Last updated: June 2026
1. Agreement
By booking a climb with Fuji Expeditions LLC, you agree to these terms and conditions. This is a legally binding agreement between you (the client) and Fuji Expeditions LLC (the company). Please read these terms carefully before booking.
2. Service
Fuji Expeditions provides guided mountain climbing expeditions on Mount Fuji, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. Our services include:
- ▶Certified JMGA mountain guide for the duration of the climb
- ▶Hut reservation coordination (where applicable)
- ▶Headlamp and trekking pole rental (if needed)

3. Booking & Deposit
A 40% deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining 60% is due 14 days before the climb date. Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit is received. All prices are in Japanese Yen (JPY).
Payment is accepted via bank transfer or credit card. Credit card payments incur a 3.5% processing fee. International transfers must include all fees — the received amount must equal the invoiced amount.
4. Cancellations
Weather Cancellation (by us)
If we cancel due to dangerous weather conditions, you have two options: reschedule to a later date within the same season, or receive a full credit toward a future climb. No cash refunds for weather cancellations — this is standard mountain guiding policy worldwide. Safety is our priority.
Client Cancellation
- ●30+ days before climb: refund minus 5% administrative fee
- ●14-30 days before climb: 50% refund
- ●Less than 14 days: no refund (we have already committed guides and hut reservations)
5. Fitness & Safety
Mount Fuji is a serious mountain. Altitude, weather, and terrain create real risks. We reserve the right to turn back any climber who, in our guide's professional judgment, is unfit to continue safely. This includes but is not limited to:
- ▶Signs of altitude sickness (severe headache, nausea, confusion)
- ▶Inability to maintain the group's minimum safe pace
- ▶Equipment failure or inadequate clothing/gear
- ▶Behavior that endangers the climber or the group
- ▶Medical conditions not disclosed before booking that present risk
If a guide turns back a climber for safety reasons, no refund or credit is provided. This is non-negotiable and exists to protect lives.
6. Liability & Waiver
Mountain climbing is inherently dangerous. By booking, you acknowledge and accept these risks including but not limited to: injury, death, altitude sickness, hypothermia, falls, rockfall, lightning, and weather-related incidents.
All clients must sign a liability waiver and assumption of risk document before the climb. Minors (under 18) must have a parent or guardian sign on their behalf.
Fuji Expeditions LLC carries professional liability insurance as required by Japanese law (Travel Agency Registration No. 2-8147). This does not replace your personal travel insurance, which is mandatory for all climbs.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
